Program Description:
Immerse yourself into the most amazing intercultural experience, and take the opportunity to
witness the magical lifestyle at the Quechua Andes.
On your arrival to the Quechua Village, feel the warmth welcoming native women prepared for
you.
Quechua woman will show you their ancient knowledge, lifestyle and daily activities they do in
order to be self-sufficient. As they have learn from generation to generation from hundreds of
years ago.
During this experience, you will also have the opportunity to take a “High Altitude Cooking”
master class, using local crops, tools and a clay stone firewood kitchen. Together with the
Quechua woman you will develop your cooking skills, learning a delicious recipe: LAWA DE
MORAYA (natural freeze dehydrate potato soup).
About 5 hours before your arrival, the woman have been heating up the “stone oven” which is use
to prepare the 8000 year old barbecue: “PACHAMANCA”.
You will have an introduction to the ingredients we will use and a demonstration about how this
Stone Oven is built. Right after, guided by the Quechua woman, you will accommodate all the
ingredients and cover it.
While the Pachamanca gets ready, our humble hosts will show you their amazing skills of the
natural textile and weaving process. Step by step, from the wool obtention, natural coloring, and
weaving technics to the final products.
Time for Lunch!!! Enjoy the flavors on each bite you take!!!
After lunch, you can take a time to purchase some of the handmade textiles yours host have for
sale.
Quechua woman will host us to the vehicle which will drive you back to your hotel, singing
beautiful Quechua songs while you walk.
